Water Damage: The Process

Tornado Alley Carpet Cleaning 303-622-6550 offers 24 hour service for water damage emergencies. We provide top of the line water extraction products and equipment benefiting property owner’s faster drying time.

Upon entering the water damaged area, a Tornado Alley Technician will inspect the loss by first monitoring the moisture levels and documenting the data. We use the latest technology to insure we get accurate readings on the surface and sub surface to insure complete drying.

After the Tornado Alley Technicians have completed the assessment process, the next step is to begin extracting the water. Tornado Alley Carpet Cleaning uses only the best equipment available for this process. All the equipment is designed to remove ninety five percent of the water in the carpet and pad. We remove furniture and other items to a dry area. Sometimes this requires a storage unit. We are very careful to make sure that there is no damage to these items.

After the furniture is moved, we begin the process of extracting the water from the carpet and pad. The “Hydro-X’ Extreme Extractor will remove the water without disturbing or lifting the carpet and pad. The powerful truck mount unit also can accomplish this as a separate vacuum or in unison with the Extreme Extractor.

Tornado Alley Technicians will then select the proper dehumidification equipment. This step is very important for the proper removal of moisture in the air. The use of high velocity drying fans creates a vortex air flow for rapid evaporation. Top-Down Drying is the least evasive drying; it leaves the carpet in place to lesson the risk of damaging it or the pad.

The charting of temperature and humidity is a daily process. Daily monitoring and adjusting will shorten the drying process. The “Protimeter” allows us to find moisture up to one inch below the surface as well as on the surface. The Psychrometer with thermometer allows the technician to check surface temperature, room temperature, and humidity. This also insures Tornado Alley is providing you, the customer, the most efficient drying process.
